Terms of Service

Last updated: September 25, 2026

These terms cover your use of SafeAlert Labs, including SafeSite, SafeEvent, and SafeCampus (together, the “Service”), provided by SafeAlert Labs Inc. (“SafeAlert Labs,” “we,” or “us”). They apply to organizations that use the Service to reach their people, to the administrators who manage it, and to anyone who enrolls to receive alerts.

By using the Service or enrolling to receive alerts, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

1. What the Service does

The Service lets an organization send emergency alerts and other safety-related messages by text message and email to the people it has enrolled, including members, staff, attendees, students’ guardians, emergency contacts, and visitors who are checked in. Recipients can reply SAFE or HELP, and the organization sees responses as they arrive. Organizations can also receive reports that enrolled people text in, and can connect the Service to their own systems.

The Service is not an emergency service and does not contact 911 or emergency responders. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 first.

2. Organizations and administrators

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you’re authorized to do so, and the organization is responsible for:

  • having a lawful basis and any required consent to enroll and message each person, including anyone it adds by hand or by file upload;
  • keeping the contact information it adds accurate and current;
  • using the Service only for safety and related organizational communications, as described in these terms;
  • controlling who has administrator access, keeping sign-in credentials secure, and removing access for people who no longer need it; and
  • complying with the laws that apply to its communications and the information it collects.

Many organizations are set up and supported by a security integrator we work with. An integrator acting for your organization may manage your account, sites, and administrators, subject to these terms.

3. Text message program

Program. SafeAlert Labs sends text messages on behalf of the organization you enrolled with, such as your employer, the site you’re working at, an event, or your child’s school. Messages include enrollment confirmations and verification codes, emergency alerts that ask you to reply SAFE or HELP, all-clear notices, and non-emergency safety updates from the organization, such as weather or schedule notices.

Consent. You agree to receive these messages when you enroll through a SafeAlert Labs form or QR code and check the consent box, or when your organization adds you with your consent. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

Frequency. Message frequency varies. Messages are sent only when your organization sends an alert or update, plus confirmation and verification messages when you enroll.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from that number, and START to opt back in. If you opt out, you won’t receive emergency alerts by text until you opt back in.

Replying HELP. In this program, HELP is a safety reply: it tells your organization you need assistance and notifies its administrators right away. Only reply HELP if you need help. For questions about the text program itself, contact your organization or email us at anthony.carvel@axisrecruits.com.

Reporting a concern. You can reply to the number your alerts come from to send a report to your organization, for example about something unsafe you’ve seen. Reports go to your organization’s administrators.

Delivery. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier, device, signal, and the accuracy of the number on file.

4. Email alerts

If an email address is on file, alerts may also arrive by email, with links you can tap to respond SAFE or HELP. Each email includes an unsubscribe link.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • send marketing, advertising, promotional, political, or fundraising messages;
  • message people without the consent or authority required by law;
  • harass, threaten, or mislead anyone, or send unlawful content;
  • enter information about people you’re not authorized to enroll; or
  • interfere with the Service, try to access it without authorization, or probe, scan, or overload it.

We may suspend accounts or messages that we reasonably believe violate these rules or put people or the Service at risk.

6. Delivery and availability

We work to keep the Service available and to deliver every message promptly, but we can’t guarantee that every message will be delivered, delivered at a particular time, or read. Delivery depends on mobile carriers, email providers, internet and device availability, and accurate contact information, which are outside our control. We may occasionally need to interrupt the Service for maintenance or security.

7. Your organization’s data

Your organization owns the information it and its people put into the Service. It gives us permission to store, process, and transmit that information only to provide, secure, and support the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Fees

Any fees for the Service are set out in the proposal or agreement between your organization and SafeAlert Labs or your integrator. Enrolling to receive alerts is free for individuals, apart from any message and data rates from their carrier.

9. Suspension and termination

An organization may stop using the Service at any time, as set out in its agreement. We may suspend or end access for anyone who violates these terms or uses the Service in a way that could harm others. Individuals can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP or asking their organization to remove them.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Service supports, but does not replace, your organization’s emergency plans, emergency services, and professional judgment.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, SafeAlert Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from the Service, including from messages that are delayed, not delivered, or not read. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount your organization paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Indemnification

Each organization will defend and hold SafeAlert Labs harmless from claims arising from its use of the Service in violation of these terms or the law, including messaging people without required consent.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we’ll let organization administrators know. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
